The Story

Thy Kingdom Come tells the story of the birth of the Church, only set in modern day America. Based on the Book of Acts, it is told by the Apostle John (as he is the last of the twelve remaining) sentenced to an indefinite term in the Pelican Bay Correction Facility by the evil President Nero. We hear, through the patient and loving John, how the Church began after the Ascension, to the faithful droves that followed the example set down by this humble carpenter, even to the persecution of those that the carpenter held so dear. You’ll hear Peter’s speech on the day of Pentecost, learn of the grace that was bestowed to us all, and even of Paul’s “bus breakdown” in the desert.

Bringing the Story To Life

Bringing Thy Kingdom Come to life took the talents of Catherine Jones Maxwell and Joshua David Maxwell. After adapting the Book of Acts for the stage, they continued where the sacred book left off, telling the story of the martyrdom of the “followers.” Once the script was written, the two set to work to bring life to the story. Catherine serves as Director, as well as Costume, Props, and Make-up Designer; while Joshua serves as John, as well as Set, Sound, and Lighting Designer. The mission was to draw the saints of God closer to Him, through a deeper knowledge of Him.
